O Cruzeiro do Sul é a menor dentre as 88 constelações modernas catalogadas no céu noturno, segundo a União Astronômica Internacional. A configuração desse agrupamento estelar é visualizado na Via Láctea em forma de cruz, composta pela Estrela de Magalhães, Mimosa, Pálida, Rubídea e uma Intrometida, que veio para atrapalhar a perfeição divina. O símbolo foi inserido na Bandeira Nacional, o cantamos no Hino Nacional Brasileiro, ele emoldura o brasão de armas, está em nossos passaportes e na mais importante ordem militar da nação. No entanto conforme explica o professor Walmir Cardoso, no ABC da Astronomia, só a Estrela de Magalhães está a 359 anos-luz de nós.
Nas noites estreladas da Velha Serpa, Lucas Lopes da Silva, ex-capataz e trabalhador da agricultura familiar localizava da chácara Céu Aberto, na região do Canaçary, tal constelação e, também, visualizada da orla escura da cidade. Não era só contemplação ou empirismo, mas baseava-se nos estudos e nas notícias do Reader’s Digest, aproveitando para fazer uma releitura do ‘tempo’ e do céu, para escolher o melhor momento para plantar… Os antigos diziam que quando o Cruzeiro do Sul estava alinhado com a cruz da Catedral, a cidade respirava prosperidades.
Marinheiros de bandeiras estrangeiras confessavam que não o observavam da Europa, mas confirmavam que um dos melhores lugares para apreciar o fenômeno era de nossa cidade. Estrelas, céu e Via Láctea transportam-nos para um sentido de luminiscência das ideias. Porém parece que a pedra ainda está saindo da idade das trevas. A UFAM – Universidade Federal do Amazonas desde a década de 90 instituiu uma modalidade de ensino para complementar inúmeras áreas do saber, tentando dar um sentido de formação melhor ao estudante da região, especialmente para as pessoas humildes. A opção enriquece o curriculum profissional do amazonense que necessita constantemente buscar a alta qualificação.
Os itacoatiarenses já aprenderam que nas estradas da vida nem tudo é rodovia pavimentada… Infelizmente ainda temos uma visão torta de que tudo o que obtemos de graça pode perdurar eternamente, ao não darmos o real valor ao que herdamos sem fazer esforço ou sem exposição. O mérito do conhecimento é um parto doloroso como ensinava o filósofo Sócrates nos púlpitos atenienses, mas para combater a inexistência de vontade política, as ações da sociedade organizada é que faz o governo agir. Ora, progredir é uma ação humana… O que, afinal, restou dos projetos e da comissão de solidificação da Universidade no município? Onde está a elite universitária serpense e os novos arautos que ficaram para lutar, defender e representar a terra?
O Centro de Estudos de Línguas – CEL, é um projeto ligado ao Departamento de Línguas e Literaturas Estrangeiras e oferece cursos de Línguas Espanhola, Francesa, Japonesa, Inglesa, Latina e LIBRAS (Língua Brasileira de Sinais); Português para estrangeiros e para brasileiros; Proficiência em Línguas Espanhola e Inglesa. Recentemente os municípios de Coari e Benjamin Constant foram agraciados com uma unidade cada. Será que o Campus Universitário Moyses Israel não é importante? Qual é a diferença deste para os outros campus?
A duplicação da Rodovia Torquato Tapajós, a produção pesqueira em franco desenvolvimento, o ‘rebaixamento’ do Linhão de Tucuruí, a interiorização de algumas fábricas ou indústrias, a invasão chinesa e a promessa de instalação de um retroporto internacional para escoar mercadorias e produtos, vai necessitar de mão de obra qualificada para atender a demanda. Wanessa Bandeira, Técnica em Contabilidade, cursando o 2º semestre de Inglês, afirma ser importante para a cidade tendo em vista que a realização de um curso objetiva ocupação e geração de renda para tal segmento da comunidade.
O acesso ao conhecimento de uma segunda língua torna o mundo mais plural, ensina o professor Rudgere Oliveira, do Centro de Estudos de Línguas (UFAM), há cinco anos lecionando Língua Inglesa. Cria uma conexão com pessoas de outro país, complementa. O CEL é autossustentável, explica Ricardo Bessa, da PROEXT – Pro-Reitoria de Extensão, porém, a questão é que tudo que é recolhido vem através do pagamento da DRU e essa forma inviabiliza saber o total que nos cabe para os investimentos futuros, justifica.
Foram quatro décadas de lutas e de articulações consumidas desde as ações utópicas a realização do sonho. Graças a Deus que quase no fim do caminho encontramos um humanista, Moyses Israel que, sem apegos ao materialismo, doou o terreno e a própria residência para a instalação da Universidade na cidade que carregava no peito e tanto amou em vida. Se estivesse neste Planeta, sem dúvidas, convocaria o Magnífico Reitor Dr. Sylvio Puga para uma conversa e, com calma franciscana e olhando nos olhos, sentado naquela mesa que adornava a sala cheia de honrarias, segurando uma caneta-tinteiro preta iria pautar, com escrita paleográfica, a reunião… Muitas pessoas desconhecem, mas sua luz ainda energiza, lampeja e brilha nos corações itacoatiarenses.
A população deseja que a governança universitária não trilhe os procedimentos didáticos já ultrapassados da Cartilha ‘Caminho Suave’. Todavia devemos analisar o projeto pela ótica construtivista. Raul Seixas, o 1º rocker brasileiro, em Al Capone, já cantava para denunciar o estado de coisas que afetava Chicago, bisando no final: … Eu sou astrólogo!… E conheço essa História do princípio ao fim! E aproveitando a genialidade do maluco “eu também vou reclamar… E fim de papo!”: a Universidade não será perdoada, enquanto Itacoatiara não fizer parte do CEL.

The Southern Cross is the smallest of the 88 modern constellations cataloged in the night sky, according to the International Astronomical Union. Stars, sky and Milky Way carry us to a sense of luminescence of ideas. But it seems that the stone is still coming out of the Dark Ages. UFAM – Federal University of Amazonas since the 90s instituted a teaching modality to complement numerous areas of knowledge, trying to give a better sense of formation to the student of the region, especially for humble people. The option enriches the professional curriculum of the Amazonian who constantly needs to seek high qualification.
People from Itacoatiara have already learned that on the roads of life not everything is paved highway…Unfortunately, we still have a crooked view that everything we get for free can last forever, by not giving real value to what we inherit without effort or exposure. The merit of knowledge is a painful birth as is taught by the philosopher Socrates in the Athenian pulpits, but to combat the lack of political will, the actions of organized society is what makes the government act. Now, progress is a human action … What has it been left of the projects and the solidification commission of the University in the municipality? Where is the Serpentine university elite and the new heralds who have stood to fight, defend and represent the earth?
The Language Studies Center (CEL) is a project linked to the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures and offers courses such as: Spanish, French, Japanese, English, Latin and LIBRAS (Brazilian Sign Language), Portuguese for foreigners and for Brazilians; Proficiency in Spanish and English Languages. Recently the municipalities of Coari and Benjamin Constant were awarded one headquarter each. Isn’t Moyses Israel Campus important? What is the difference between this to other campuses?

The population wants university governance not to tread the didactic procedures already outdated by the ‘Soft Path’ Primer. However, we must analyze the project through a constructivist perspective.
